*THE PROCESS: To participate in telemental health counseling through video or phone, please call (856)889-2519 to schedule an appointment. Please do not register without speaking to someone from this office. Business hours are from Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Once you have scheduled an appointment with this office, please visit valeriewoolford.secure-client-area.com and complete the registration form and assessments. Telemental health is not for everyone. If it is determined that telemental health is not appropriate for you, an office setting referral can be provided for you. If there are technical difficulties during a video therapy session, the psychotherapist will contact you by phone to complete the therapy session.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I believe counseling is an individualized process, and it is important for you to view counseling as an opportunity to become the person you want to be. I approach therapy in an integrated manner, using evidence-based and ethical interventions. I use a person-centered approach with a focus on moving you forward in your life toward health and recovery. I have a diverse practice, and I have vast experience working with people from many backgrounds. I will empower you and teach you how to be and stay well.

I provide counseling services to individuals and couples from 18 years old and above. In individual and couples counseling sessions, I focus on emotional health, improved quality of life, and moving forward toward recovery from addictive and unhealthy behaviors. We will work together to resolve dysfunctional behaviors, faulty thinking patterns, self-esteem, and relational and family problems.

Key components of counseling include exploring and understanding the lasting effects of past trauma and early developmental experiences, as well as current life challenges. These areas are often contributing factors of alcoholism, drug addiction, depression and anxiety. Counseling allows you to become mindful, emotionally aware, and will assist you in developing the skills necessary to resolve addictive behaviors and mental health issues.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

I use a person-centered approach in an integrated manner. Your counseling sessions will be tailored to your issues and to the direction you want to go. Substance abuse counseling is discrete, confidential individual therapy, based upon how you want to approach the recovery process.

The assessment process assists me in directing your treatment and discovering the best way to assist you. Counseling modalities are chosen based upon you - what it is you need and how I can best help.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Intimacy and communication are the cornerstones of healthy partnerships. In couples counseling, you and your partner will explore your relational history and focus on the formation of dysfunctional communication. The goals of couples counseling are to restore emotional intimacy and to develop healthy ways of communicating.
